For decades, the percentage of air content in foaming oil could be measured with reasonable accuracy. However, the complete foaming spectrum, including bubble size and distribution, could not be quantified in real time.

This lack of precision hindered the efficient design of hydraulic systems, leading to lubrication inefficiencies, reduced system reliability, and unpredictable failures.

With increasing performance requirements in drivetrain and hydraulic systems—particularly in automotive transmissions, industrial hydraulics, and wind turbines—the demand for a solution that could measure, visualize, and control air-in-oil dynamics with unprecedented accuracy became increasingly urgent.

From research cooperation to industrial application

Initial dispersion measurements under load points on transmission and hydraulic systems showed significant differences between direct optical measurement and conventional indirect methods - thus confirming the scientific basis and industrial relevance of the system.
